A new website
24/02/2010 by Paul Carpenter.
Snow, snow, snow - just when we thought spring was coming, we get another blizzard. But that has not stopped me working and as part of a college project come personal playing around with dreamweaver thing, I have created a new website (as you may have noticed) which better protrays the sort of things I do now when not asleep!
Probably a bit of a shock to some - the huge differance between the leather stuff to graphic design but it is still creative, only the end result is produced along a different route.

Glasgow Vikings
01/06/2009 by Paul Carpenter.
First major outing of the summer for me and the family and it felt like the hottest day as well, lord knows how the vikings felt in their gear. Guess they are used to it once their blood is heated up for battle. Thankfully these vikings are semi-tame and there was only the need for a simple rope fence between us civilised folk!! and the viking hordes.
Also managed to give Robert low his shield and also learnt that he plans to write a fourth book about the Oathsworn - I guess you just can’t keep the brothers in arms down.
The glasgow vikings are doing shows all over the place as they do every year - click on the link above to see if they are near you. Oh and the fact that an ambulance is behind in the photo’s is more to do with me being in the wrong location and not because I feared for my life - honestly……..!!

The white stuff
05/02/2009 by Paul Carpenter.
Have heard from a few friends and relatives that us up here in the depths of Scotland are not the only one’s getting snow this year. In fact most of the UK seems to be covered in white at the moment.
From experiance as a truckie in the London area in my younger years, it’s not the snow that’s so much the problem (as long as there’s not heaps of it) rather the ice that it produces after a slight thaw. So every one take care out there, in fact take the week off, put your feet up in front of the fire or even go out and concentrate building that perfect snowman you always promised you would as a kid!!!

Christmas greetings
10/12/2008 by Paul Carpenter.
Just a short offering of cheer for the festive season, to one and all who know me and even those who don’t. Hope all your wishes come true in the new year and that you enter it with quite a clear head - except for the exception of my fellow Scots who if experiance repeats its self won’t know what day it is until the 2nd.
leatherwise, I have a full set of pack saddle bags to build for xmas and a viking shield to make for january with scenic carving on the front. Plus the usual whips and I’m gonna try my hand at leather tankards - should be fun especially the dipping in wax, I have asured the wife that it won’t make as much mess as when I make the armour but it looks like I’ll have to use the camp stove in the shed this time!! - such is life.
Cheers and merry christmas.

Virgin blogger
24/11/2008 by Paul Carpenter.
I guess this blog thing is not any thing new to most, but up until 10 minutes ago I was a complete virgin (still not too old). So please bear with me while I get used to this new land I’ve ventured into.
The purpose behind this little venture was to woffle on now and again about various bit’s and bob’s that I make, offering sort of tutorials which of course depends on when and if I remember to record them - should be fun.
Oh and for all those who have got here NOT via my website (which is listed some where on the blog page - in the middle I think). I am a saddler from scotland who make loads of different things, depending mostly on what interest me at the time seeing as it’s a sort of part time thing now.
Til the next thrilling installment - may the wind always be behind you in good times and to the front in bad times (of which I’m sure never hardly happens).
